Wyler Vetta celebrated the end of 2022 through the prestigious collaboration with the French street artist Gomor. The work, a print made in a limited edition of 50 numbered copies, celebrates the milestones that the brand has achieved during the year.
2022 was an important year for the brand, 12 months that saw a significant development of traditional distribution, the launch of the recently updated and enriched e-commerce site through a complete restyling and above all the development of the new collections. The Jumbostar line was the absolute protagonist. Today, the model inspired by the chronograph of the same name launched by the brand in 1968, animates a complete collection that includes the Jumbostar chronograph in the 43 and 40 mm diameter versions, the Jumbostar 660 Diver model and the Jumbostar time only.
“ The market has welcomed the new relaunch of Wyler Vetta with enthusiasm and energy, signals that comfort us with respect to future projects, which will be many. We are working with Fulvio Locci on the development of collections and special projects. The collaboration with Gomor was an opportunity to remember this year and leave a mark in the history of the brand, which has always been very active on the unconventional communication front ,” comments Marcello Binda, CEO of Wyler Vetta.
Gomor's work reinterprets with his irreverent and ironic style an emblematic episode in the history of Wyler Vetta: the launch of some timepieces from the Eiffel Tower to test their robustness, carried out on 8 October 1931 in the presence of notaries who were able to certify the functioning of the watches even after the fall.
The imagination of Gomor, the enfant terrible of French street art, has reconstructed this scene by making Scrooge McDuck the protagonist , the famous comic book character who, against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower, wears his Jumbostar chronograph while clutching a briefcase with the Wyler Vetta logo full of banknotes. A fun, light-hearted and at the same time significant image, apparently childish, in pure Gomor style.
