Wyler Vetta, for the third consecutive year, celebrated the story of the past year through the point of view of the artist John Matos, born in 1961, aka CRASH. A pioneering street artist in the graffiti context who began expressing himself on trains and subway tunnels since the 1980s. The artist says of himself: “I always thought that what we were doing was much more than it was at that specific moment... graffiti could be legitimate”.
Crash created for Wyler Vetta a “murals on canvas” reproduced in just 100 numbered 60 x 60 cm prints, drawing inspiration from the Dynawind Esercito model, one of the brand's most emblematic launches last year.
“The past year was the year in which we focused on new projects linked above all to the distribution and development of the collections. Alongside Jumbostar, an iconic line that identifies the DNA of the brand, we worked with Fulvio Locci on the Dynawind collection through the prestigious collaboration with the Army and on the Heritage collection, redesigned in a contemporary key. The three collections today represent the pillars of our offer”, comments Marcello Binda CEO Wyler Vetta.
Wyler Vetta's Dynawind Esercito watch appears in Crash's work at the center of an extremely modern composition in which the colors light up the entire work. The dial celebrates, in the representation, the classic star of the Italian Army logo that becomes the core of the entire narration, the fulcrum towards which the fists of an automaton clench. All the lines invite you to focus your attention on the heart of the watch and the drawing. The artist's signature integrates perfectly into the space and creates an "onomatopoeic" effect accentuated by the star. Visually iconic, the artist proposes a highly recognizable style, a trait that he has made available to Wyler Vetta to tell the story of 2023.
